The School Uniform

We expect all children to attend school with the proper uniform and dress code. 

You can order branded school uniform online or unbranded uniform, which matches the policy, at many supermarkets. Follow the link to order uniform online:

Uniform Policy

Girls Uniform

  • Grey blazer (Years 5 and 6)
  • Blue tie (Years 5 and 6)
  • Grey cardigan or school cardigan/jumper (younger years)
  • Black skirt or trousers (whole school)
  • White blouse (Years 5 and 6)
  • White shirt or polo shirt (younger years)
  • Flat black shoes with strap or laces (whole school) (No sling-backs or opened toed shoes)

Summer

  • Blue/white checked dress (younger years up to year 4)
  • White socks or grey tights
  • Black or grey pinafore dresses

Boys Uniform

  • Grey Blazer (Years 5 and 6)
  • Blue tie (years 5 and 6)
  • Grey jumper or school sweatshirt (younger years)
  • Black trousers (whole school)
  • White shirt (years 5 and 6)
  • White polo shirt (younger years)
  • Black shoes (whole school)

Summer

  • Black shorts (whole school)
  • Black or grey socks

Dress Code

  • Corduoroy, canvas, cotton or denim jeans must NOT be worn.
  • Similarly, jackets in denim are not permitted.
  • Jewellery should not be worn to school (except ear studs).
  • In the interests of safety, only studs are to be worn in children’s ears.
  • All boys and girls will have to remove or cover ear studs during games lessons.
  • No nail varnish or make-up.
  • Long hair should be tied back with a hair band. Pupils should not have dyed hair, patterns cut in to their hair, large spikes or mullets. If in doubt please see the School Principal.

The Role of Parents

We ask parents to support the school uniform policy and to ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair. If any parent has any concerns about the uniform policy, they should speak with the Principal. The Python Hill Academy welcomes children from all backgrounds and faith communities. If there are serious reasons, for example on religious grounds, why parents want their child to wear clothes that differ from the school uniform, the school will consider such requests.

The Role of Trustees

The Trustees support the Principal with the school uniform policy. It considers all parental concerns about the uniform policy and liaises with the Principal to ensure that the policy is fair and dealt with sensitively. It is the Trustees’ responsibility to ensure that the school uniform meets all regulations concerning equal opportunities. Trustees ensure that the school uniform policy helps children to dress sensibly, in clothing that is hardwearing, safe and practical.

Children Not in Correct Uniform

It is our expectation that all children come in the correct uniform. Should any parent not follow this guidance we will ask parents to comply and, if needed, arrange a meeting to discuss any serious reasons why correct uniform isn’t being worn.
