This year in Year 4 we are looking at a range of topics. In the autumn term, we shall be learning about Rain-forests; the layers, their climate and the animals that live in them. Towards the end of half term we are planning a trip to The Butterfly House in Sheffield where we can extend the learning that has taken place in the classroom. During the second part of the term, we shall be learning about South American carnivals and the Mayans and Aztecs.
For Science, we are learning about living things from the smallest creepy crawlies to the giants of the deep. We will be learning where and how they live. The children will be learning about what we do that impacts on the animals and their habitats. We shall also learn about digestion and teeth.
During our reading sessions, we will continue to explore a variety of texts. Reading is something we love to do and we thank those who are supporting the love of reading with their children at home. We ask you to continue listening to your child read daily and write a note in their diary to let their teacher know how they got on.
In Year 4, P.E now takes place on Tuesday afternoon. It is very important that each child brings their own P.E kit (Navy shorts, white t-shirt and plimsoles). We ask that P.E kits are kept in school and taken home to be washed at the end of each half-term.
