Welcome to Puffin Class in Foundation 1.
Despite being the youngest class in school, we aim to give every child the opportunity to succeed and achieve the best they possibly can.
This half term, our new topic is called, ‘What Makes a Rainbow?’ based on the book by Betty Schwartz. We will be exploring colour and light and observing the changing weather as we move into Spring. At the end of the term, we will be celebrating all our achievements by holding a musical production, called ‘A Spring Fling’. Everyone is welcome.
Don’t forget to check our weekly F1 Blog for more information closer to the time.
Please note if you would like more details regarding the Foundation Curriculum please contact Karl Hopkinson.
Please note the school uses the Read Write Inc system to teach reading and phonics across the foundation stage and key stage one. Read Write Inc., developed by Ruth Miskin, provides a structured and systematic approach to teaching literacy. It is used by more than a quarter of the UK’s primary schools and is designed to create fluent readers, confident speakers and willing writers.
